I’m a psychotherapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist who works with both individual clients and folks in relationships to address concerns such as anxiety, sexual health and wellness, LGBTQIA+ concerns, trauma, grief, and related struggles.

I am based in Baltimore, Maryland, which is located on the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Piscataway Conoy Tribe. Telehealth services allow me to work with individuals and couples all across the state of Maryland.

Here’s How I Think About Therapy

I reject the one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and instead work with you to cultivate a personalized space for processing, venting, healing, and (when you’re ready), change and growth.

This means, if we work together, we can focus on your specific goals. This might look like building self-awareness, increasing confidence, learning new coping skills, improving your relationship(s), decreasing symptoms of anxiety or depression, expanding happiness, and other things as you take on the modern stressors and challenges that this life provides.

If you're hoping to hire a “blank-screen” type of therapist, I’m sorry, but I’m not the one for you.

I embrace my "human-ness" during my sessions. This means you’ll be working with someone who can challenge, support, encourage and laugh with you. I’ll offer authentic responses, appropriate transparency, practical suggestions, and sometimes a necessary dose of reality.

  • I work with adult individuals to address their concerns relating to modern stressors such as anxiety, depression, career issues, life transitions, and more. I specialize in working with members of the LGBQTIA+ community, fat identified folx, and those who struggle with chronic illness.

My Values

  • I believe every client has a right to be treated with respect, kindness, and positive regard. Generally, I operate under the assumption that people do the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have available to them. It’s my role as a therapist to help you better understand and utilize the resources you already have available, as well as provide you with additional supports.

  • I believe in intersectionality, a concept termed by Kimberlé Crenshaw which describes the ways in which systems of inequality based on gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, class and other forms of discrimination “intersect” to create unique dynamics and effects. Therapists need to be aware of the impact of intersectionality both within and outside of therapy. As a white, cisgender, educated person, I acknowledge the privileges I have. As a queer, fat, woman, I have experienced degrees of marginalization. All elements of my identity impact how I see the world and I’m curious to learn about how my client’s intersectionality impacts them.

  • I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that often involves hard work. I value your safety, privacy, comfort and autonomy. I believe that taking the time to build a positive rapport will allow us to do transformative work.

  • I value your investment of time, finances, and emotions, that are required to attend therapy. This means you can expect that I will be on time for our sessions, honor your vulnerability, and protect your privacy. I am committed to being a lifelong learner so that I can provide my clients with the most up-to-date and evidence based care.

Outside of Sessions

When I’m not working with clients I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our small herd of pets. Currently we share two dogs and two cats. I relish opportunities that provide novelty; I love traveling, connecting with people, tasting and cooking new foods, attending festivals, and exploring all that my hometown of Baltimore has to offer. Speaking of Charm City… my spouse and I are proud owners of a home built in 1923, so I’ve recently been learning to DIY my way through numerous home improvement and decor projects. I’m also a lover of true crime and paranormal podcasts, books, and documentaries... If it’s spooky, it normally interests me.

Work-life balance is important to me, which is why I typically only see clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I find this offers me the opportunity to be fully present during sessions, handle my administrative duties, and still have plenty of time for family, friends (chosen family), and play.
