Professional Consultation & Supervision

With Noelle Benach, LCPC, CST

I offer professional consultation and supervision for mental health professionals, including psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, and graduate student interns. I am a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor for LGPCs.

Specialties

I specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals with sexual wellness concerns, folx who struggle with anxiety, parents, and professional caregivers, including fellow mental health providers. If you’re seeking professional consultation, I can provide you with both insight and guidance related to working with members of the aforementioned populations.

I’m particularly passionate about working with people in relationships including premarital couples, neurodiverse couples, and those in consensually non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships. As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I work with couples, LGBTQIA+ identified folx, and women to address sexual health and wellness concerns. In pursuit of AASECT certification, I completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program in both the Sex Therapy and Sexuality Education tracks at the University of Michigan. I also work with people who identify within the Kink, BDSM and Alternative Sex Communities. I have been trained in various relational modalities including: Stan Tatkin’s Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) (Levels 1 & 2 Trained), Prepare/Enrich (Certified Facilitator and Trainer), and the Gottman method (Levels 1 & 2).

If you are seeking to develop or grow your own private practice, I can provide you with specific strategies and constructive feedback, as well as facilitate connections with professional colleagues. Additionally, I offer website consultation and design services for mental health professionals.

Origin Story

Like many individuals in this field, I was drawn to counseling because of my personal experiences. I first found myself in therapy as a teenager and have since deepened my appreciation for the practice both as a clinician and a client.

After feeling a bit lost as a soon-to-be college graduate with a Bachelors degree in Psychology, I enrolled in the Masters of Counseling Psychology program at the University of Baltimore. As part of the program requirements, I completed 3 semesters of practicum/internship. Over the next few years I evolved from a nervous practicum student, to a confident fully licensed clinician. I was able to learn the value of quality mentorship as well as the ins and outs of managing an out-of-network private practice. With time, I came to wear many hats, as I served as both a clinician, intern supervisor, and the director of operations. After nearly seven years, I made the decision to open up my own private practice and consulting service.

Dr. Irvin D. Yalom wisely states, “Only the wounded healer can truly heal” in his novel, Lying on the Couch. I believe that my unique life experiences paired with my intersectional identities allow me to understand my clients empathically, express compassion, and facilitate hope, while still remembering that my clients are still the “experts” on themselves.
